Flute sizes determine the thickness of the corrugated wall. Different flute sizes have different functions. Notice the flutes are constructed in an "arch" pattern. Just as engineers use the arch for strength in large construction design, so too is the arch important in the strength of the box. The thickness of the paper used to construct the flute also provides varied strength for your boxes. Product weight, printing substrate, stacking patterns, warehousing, shipping requirements, etc. can impact your flute choice as well.
